Praslin, La Digue and North Island in ten nights
Three islands, three speeds: a hillside pool villa on Praslin near the Vallée de Mai, bicycles and granite boulders on La Digue, and four nights on North Island, reached by helicopter from Mahé.
The only 18-hole championship golf course in the Seychelles, wrapped around beaches on the north-west tip of Praslin, 15 minutes from the airport.
Lemuria is the answer when one of you wants to play golf and the other wants a beach. The 18-hole course is the only one of its kind in the Seychelles, green fees are included, and the course has wide views over the sea. Anse Georgette, one of the prettiest beaches on Praslin, is within reach of the resort.
The suites sit close to the shore among the gardens, and between October and February turtles come ashore to nest on Grand Anse Kerlan, with the resort's turtle team on hand to explain what you are seeing. The kids club takes children from four to 11, which makes it a straightforward family choice.
It is a big, polished resort rather than an intimate one, so expect a certain formality at dinner. Couples who want complete seclusion should look at the pool villas, which are large, or at a private island instead.
A 52 square metre suite set about 15 metres from the shore among the gardens, suitable for two adults and a child.
A 115 square metre suite with a separate lounge, a double-sized terrace and a whirlpool bath.
A 725 square metre villa with direct beach and garden access, a private pool, an open-air bathroom and a massage pavilion.
A 1,250 square metre villa with its own beach, garden, Jacuzzi, office and a dedicated villa master.
There are three restaurants, The Legend, Diva and The Nest, and four bars: Huna Bar, Diva Bar, Legend Pool Bar and Takamaka. Room service runs from 07:00 to 22:30, and the pool villas can arrange a barbecue on request.
Constance Spa sits among the palms and offers massages, facials and body treatments using natural products inspired by Indian Ocean plants, tailored for relaxation, detox or hydration.
The kids club welcomes children aged four to 11, with island exploration, local crafts, cooking activities and scavenger hunts led by trained coordinators. Suites and villas take families of up to four or six.

Anse Kerlan, Praslin, Seychelles
A few of the things we plan for guests in Seychelles.

The Vallée de Mai on Praslin is a UNESCO-listed palm forest and the home of the coco de mer, whose seed is the largest in the plant kingdom. Paths wind under huge fan-shaped leaves, and it is one of the few places to see the rare Seychelles black parrot. Go at opening time, when the birds are most active.

La Digue has few cars; most people get around by bicycle. Ride through the L'Union estate, past the old plantation house and vanilla, to Anse Source d'Argent, with its sculpted granite boulders and shallow water. Time it for low tide in the early morning. On the east side, Grand Anse is wilder but not for swimming when the surf is up.

Curieuse is a protected island a short boat ride from Praslin. A boardwalk runs through the mangroves to Baie Laraie, where Aldabra giant tortoises roam freely around the ranger station. Most trips add snorkelling off neighbouring St Pierre, a tiny granite islet.
