Raffles Bali opened in 2021 on 23 hectares of hillside above Jimbaran Bay. There are only 32 villas, each with a private pool and garden, so even when it is full it feels empty. Every villa comes with a Raffles Butler, which suits people who like things arranged without asking twice.
It is the most practical top-end base in Bali. The airport is about 20 minutes away, which makes it the ideal first or last stop, or the whole holiday if you do not want long drives. The Writers Bar does a proper Bali Sling at sunset, and dinner in The Secret Cave is memorable.
Be aware that the resort itself notes nearby development on the Jimbaran hillside, which can mean some daytime noise; ask us which villas sit furthest from it. And this is south Bali: for rice terraces and temples, add a few nights in Ubud.
