Le Touessrok spreads along the Trou d'Eau Douce shore facing Ile aux Cerfs, and the islands are the point. Boats run all day to Ilot Mangénie, a small island kept for resort guests with a beach restaurant and bar, and guests can play two championship courses, Ile aux Cerfs and Anahita.
For families it is hard to beat. The kids club is the largest on the island, free, open until 22:00, and split into programmes for ages 4 to 11 and teens of 12 to 17. Several suite types connect, which makes a larger family simple to house.
With 185 rooms, suites and villas it is a big resort, and it feels busy in school holidays. The east coast also catches the trade winds in the southern winter, lovely on a hot day but breezy on the beach. Couples wanting seclusion should look at a smaller hotel.
