Karisia Walking Safaris
Camel-supported walking safaris through northern Laikipia, moving camp each day on foot, with Tumaren Camp as a comfortable base.

A safari for people who would rather walk than sit in a vehicle. Three nights on a camel-supported walking safari in Laikipia, three in Samburu country for the northern species, and two on the Laikipia Plateau to finish.
Open any day for the detail. Everything here can move: add a night, swap a hotel, change the order.
The overnight flight lands in Nairobi in the morning. A short drive across the city to Wilson airport, then a light aircraft north to meet your walking guides and the camel team.
Walk in the cool of the morning with Samburu guides, reading tracks and stopping for birds, while the camels carry the camp to the next site by a river. Afternoons are for shade, a shower and a sundowner.
Fly on to the Westgate conservancy on the Ewaso Nyiro river. Look for the northern species that don't live further south: Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa oryx. Walks, drives and visits to the community are all possible.
Two nights on a private conservancy on the plateau, with views to Mount Kenya on a clear morning. Walk, drive, or simply rest your legs before the flight home.
A light aircraft back to Nairobi Wilson and a transfer to the international airport for the overnight flight home to London Heathrow.
